A patient of Susannah’s comparing her two different pregnancies

Pelvic Girdle Pain in both pregnancies, first pregnancy- traditional treatment, second pregnancy- Rost Therapy™.

“Physically you worked miracles. I can hardly believe how different my daughter’s pregnancy was from my son’s and the amazing difference my increased mobility made to my daily life (and my recovery).”

Andrea, a pregnant patient with pelvic girdle pain

In my last trimester of pregnancy I developed a tightness in the right side of my sacrum which quickly progressed in a matter of weeks into a constant jarring pain every time I shifted my weight to the right side while walking, bending over, getting out of bed. The pain was so debilitating that in order to get around, I needed the support of a cane! I was trying so many different therapies for relief like massage, acupuncture, yoga, chiropractors and physio with no success and I felt very discouraged. In a last ditch effort at 37 weeks pregnant, I booked an appointment with physiotherapist, Susannah Britnell. After a thorough consultation, Susannah showed me a very simple set of exercises that she felt would help to resolve my sacro-iliac pain.  I remember Susannah telling me at the end of our first appointment that she felt I could be back at my prenatal fitness class in a matter of weeks and that I would be in good condition by the time I gave birth. Since I had tried so many therapies and because my pain was so severe, I was very sceptical. However, since the exercises were simple and quick to do, I started doing them twice a day. Within a few days, I noticed a significant reduction in pain. Friends and family were amazed that I no longer needed the aid of a cane and that I could walk without a major limp for blocks at a time! I continued with the exercises and within a couple of weeks, was able to attend my fitness class! The results of these simple exercises were life changing for me.
